With this year's theme, “Sentuhan Ibu, Sejuta Makna – A Mother’s Touch, A Lifetime of Love,” AIK 2026 celebrates remarkable mothers whose unwavering love, courage, sacrifices and resilience have made a meaningful difference in the lives of their children and families, particularly mothers raising and caring for children with special needs. If you know a mother whose journey deserves to be heard, celebrated and honoured, we warmly invite you to nominate her. Our Back to Nature with Youth activity, organised in collaboration with The Blue Ribbon (TBR), was successfully held at Garden Spring, Cheras. The programme brought together Key Club members from Tree Top International School and Aspiration International Secondary School, accompanied by their teachers. We were also pleased to welcome several non-Key Club participants, including friends and family members of our members. In total, the activity was attended by 14 youths, 4 adults, and 3 representatives from TBR. Participants were guided through five hands-on activity stations: Harvesting Blue Pea FlowersMaking Blue Valley Drinks using edible items from the gardenSoil PaintingSelecting and Mixing SoilPlanting Forest Seeds and Saplings The facilitators from TBR were knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about sharing their expertise. They made each station interactive, enjoyable, and meaningful for the participants. The event received positive feedback and was a wonderful opportunity for youths to learn about nature, sustainability, and the importance of caring for the environment. As we continue to live in an increasingly digital world, opportunities for young people to connect with nature are becoming more important. We hope to organise more activities like this in the future, not only for our youths but also for ourselves as we continue to learn, serve, and grow together.

On 24 April 2026, members and guests gathered for Talking SENse, an initiative by the Kiwanis Club of Taman Tun Dr Ismail (KCTTDI) aimed at fostering deeper conversations around special educational needs. The session featured neuropsychologist Dr Nancy Menon, who shared both her professional expertise and personal experiences in supporting neurodivergent children with behavioural challenges. Her insights offered a powerful reminder that behaviour is often a form of communication—one that requires understanding, patience, and the right support systems. Through real-life examples and practical perspectives, attendees gained a clearer understanding of how to approach behaviour with empathy, moving beyond labels to better support children in their environments at home, school, and in the community. Talking SENse continues to be a meaningful platform for raising awareness, reducing stigma, and equipping families, educators, and the wider community with knowledge that makes a difference.
