The Kiwanis Club of TTDI wrapped up our AGM with a bang this evening (26.5.2024) at Tasty Chapati, The Curve! It's a shining example of what we can achieve when we unite as a team with a shared mission. Kudos to our incredible President Desiree Kaur, Secretary, Dr. Hamidah Mohamad, Treasurer, Roliza Ghazali, and Vice President, Adrian Ung, for keeping the meeting focused and efficient. A heartfelt thanks to Dato Fatimah Saad for her unwavering guidance and to our fantastic BOD for 2023/2024. Country Farms Organic generously donated 270 cartons of flavored sparkling water (Lychee/Peach) to KCTTDI for The Assembly Soup Kitchen - TASK . Today, we transported the donation from Country Farms' warehouse to the soup kitchen, which operates entirely with volunteers and provides over 500 hot meals daily. These drinks will allow the soup kitchen to serve 6,480 individuals* a nourishing meal alongside a refreshing beverage. Two of our members, one T.A.S.K volunteer, and three external delivery personnel carried out the physically demanding task of transporting the donation. What an exciting weekend! We had Kiwanis Mid-Term and the Anugerah Ibu Kiwanis held on the same day (20 APR 2024) at Courtyard by Marriott, Setia Alam. The Anugerah Ibu Kiwanis was initiated by the Kiwanis Club of TTDI in 2001. After a 10-year hiatus, it was hosted by Kiwanis Malaysia to elevate this prestigious event to a national event. The night was filled with palpable excitement as Kiwanians eagerly awaited our guest of honour His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and Her Royal Highness the Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin. We honoured eight (mothers who come from all over Malaysia, they showed us the meaning of motherhood, their patience and resilience to raise children with special needs despite all odds against them. Kiwanis Malaysia awards all recipients RM5,000 each. Mothers were also presented gifts from sponsors such as Mary Kay, Orchidmas, Nature Farm, Potions, Mydin, Lexis Hibiscus, Antico Salloon and Yani Bakhtiar. The night was filled with entertainment by Clarence Kang (autistic savant), the Monocort Band and songstress Ushera, led by our emcees Nazrudin Rahman and Sheahnee Lee.
