ED' Therapy organised a CSR Program at PDK Mutiara Hatiku in Shah Alam on 12 June 2024. PDK Mutiara Hatiku conducts various types of activities and interventions for some 55 children with disabilities ED’ Therapy’s teachers and therapists conducted exciting activities with the children starting with circle time in the garden. Next, they had art and craft activities using glue, color paper and paper plates. The most fun activity for the kids was the sensory play where they got to play with crushed up Jacob's biscuits and look for toy fish, crabs and sharks inside blue coloured jelly! The Kiwanis Club of TTDI sponsored the food for this initiative. All the students and teachers at the PDK were treated to a sumptuous lunch. We thank the dedicated personnel at ED'Therapy for their tireless efforts to make this initiatve a meaningful one for the children. Taylors International School recently organised a week long event called CELEBRATING DIVERSITY WEEK. Autism Cafe Project led by En Adli Yahya was invited to open a booth on 6 June 2024. Thermomix and the Kiwanis Club of TTDI represented by our Treasurer and resident chef / baker, Lyza Ghazali, joined in to prepare 60 packs of spaghetti ordered by the students and staff. It was a successful collaborative initiative with was well received by the school personnel and students. It's a shining example of what we can achieve when we unite as a team with a shared mission. Country Farms Organic generously donated 270 cartons of flavored sparkling water (Lychee/Peach) to KCTTDI for The Assembly Soup Kitchen - TASK . Today, we transported the donation from Country Farms' warehouse to the soup kitchen, which operates entirely with volunteers and provides over 500 hot meals daily. These drinks will allow the soup kitchen to serve 6,480 individuals* a nourishing meal alongside a refreshing beverage. Two of our members, one T.A.S.K volunteer, and three external delivery personnel carried out the physically demanding task of transporting the donation. What an exciting weekend! We had Kiwanis Mid-Term and the Anugerah Ibu Kiwanis held on the same day (20 APR 2024) at Courtyard by Marriott, Setia Alam. The Anugerah Ibu Kiwanis was initiated by the Kiwanis Club of TTDI in 2001. After a 10-year hiatus, it was hosted by Kiwanis Malaysia to elevate this prestigious event to a national event. The night was filled with palpable excitement as Kiwanians eagerly awaited our guest of honour His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and Her Royal Highness the Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin. We honoured eight (mothers who come from all over Malaysia, they showed us the meaning of motherhood, their patience and resilience to raise children with special needs despite all odds against them. Kiwanis Malaysia awards all recipients RM5,000 each. Mothers were also presented gifts from sponsors such as Mary Kay, Orchidmas, Nature Farm, Potions, Mydin, Lexis Hibiscus, Antico Salloon and Yani Bakhtiar. The night was filled with entertainment by Clarence Kang (autistic savant), the Monocort Band and songstress Ushera, led by our emcees Nazrudin Rahman and Sheahnee Lee.
