Kiwanis Child Development Centre (KCDC)

描述

The Kiwanis Child Development Centre (KCDC) intends to focus on early intervention, i.e. meeting the needs of neurodivergent children during their most critical development phases from early year to early school age when key social, communication, and brain development occurs. The project will therefore offer essential therapy to 60 to 80 neurodivergent children per year, up to the age of 12, who are living with sensory  and developmental challenges.
Priority will be accorded to children from marginalised communities and those facing socio-economic challenges. According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (December 2025), the average monthly gross income for households with at least one person with a disability was RM 6, 540 in 2024, from RM 5,679 in 2022. At the same time, household expenditure has risen from RM 3,974 in 2022 to RM 4, 545 in 2024. For such households, early intervention programmes may therefore be considered a luxury as opposed to putting food on the table, paying rent and other expenses. With this in mind, KCDC will offer services to lower-income families at subsidised rates.
In line with our ethos of serving the children of the world, KCDC will be managed and operated by the Kiwanis Club of Taman Tun Dr Ismail, in collaboration with certified professionals in the various fields of allied health. In May 2026, we will offer Occupational Therapy at a subsidised rate to B40 communities. Applications are open via Google form in English and Bahasa Melayu.

Donate a Book, Share a Story

We are excited to share with you an opportunity to make a meaningful impact this Christmas through the “Donate a Book, Share a Story” campaign. Now in its 3rd year, this initiative is organized by Books For - Better World (BFBW) in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Taman Tun Dr Ismail (KCTTDI) to provide books to children from underprivileged backgrounds. We invite your organization to support this cause by making a cash contribution towards purchasing books from BFBW, which will then be donated to these children. Each RM100 contribution will cover the cost of 10 gift-wrapped books. How many boxes (RM100 per box) would your organization be inspired to sponsor, helping us make this holiday season brighter for these children? To contribute, kindly make your payment to: Books For A Better World Maybank Account No: 562357534313 Together, let’s make this Christmas special for the children in need. Thank you for your generosity and for supporting a cause that brings joy and education to those who need it most. Here's the post from last year (2023): https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15MACbwWgW/
